This is the Duo Model with manual 5-speed gearbox and slide back sun roof. This particular iteration of the Astra had virtually no electronics, which - as many of us have experienced with modern cars - are forever going wrong and costing hundreds if not thousands to put right.

These Astras were also very economical, yet another reason why these were one of Europe's best-selling cars for decades - they simply tick all the boxes for a run-around small enough and nippy enough for town but with plenty of room and power for the whole family.
There really cannot be many left in this condition - unlikely to hang around for long.
